Join our expert Battlefield Historian, Jo Hook, on this coach tour commemorating the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day Landings. This comprehensive coach tour visits the five landing beaches and the two airborne landing zones of Operation OVERLORD, the invasion of Normandy. During the tour you will visit: the two major Allied memorials - The British Normandy Memorial, and the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial; the iconic battlefield sites of Pegasus Bridge, Merville Battery, SWORD Beach, JUNO Beach, Arromanches-les-Bains and Mulberry Harbour, Sainte-Mère-Église, UTAH Beach, Pointe Du Hoc, and OMAHA Beach; and La Cambe German Cemetery.

Our In The Footsteps® D-Day 80th Anniversary Coach Tour begins when we collect you from London and drive to Dover. During the day you will explore the Battle of Britain at Hawkinge or Dunkirk from Dover Castle before overnighting at the 4* Dover Marina Hotel & Spa close to the ferry port.

Today begins with crossing the English Channel on the 10:00 sailings from Dover to Calais. After disembarking, we drive across France to the Normandy Invasion area, where your battlefield historian will set the scene for the following days, before you check into the 3* Kyriad Hérouville Saint Clair, Caen Nord, our tour hotel.
The evening is spent at your leisure either in your hotel or local area.

Today we will attend one of the anniversary events commemorating the 80th Anniversary of D-Day (TBC).
We will also explore the British Airborne and SWORD Beach areas, including Pegasus Bridge, Ranville, Merville Battery, SWORD Beach and the Hillman Bunker.
The evening is spent at your leisure either in your hotel or local area.

Today we visit the British Normandy Memorial and explore JUNO Beach, GOLD Beach and Arromanches-les-Bains, the site of the British Mulberry Harbour Port Winston. During the day we will visit the Bayeux British Cemetery and Memorial to pay our respects to the fallen.
The evening is spent at your leisure either in your hotel or local area.

Today is spent exploring the American landing beaches and airborne landing zone, including UTAH Beach, Sainte-Mère-Église, La Cambe German Cemetery, Pointe-du-Hoc, OMAHA Beach, and the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial.
The evening is spent at your leisure either in your hotel or local area.

This morning, you have the opportunity to do some shopping in Caen before we begin our journey back to the UK where we drop you off in London.
