Drive from Calais to Ieper book into our tour hotel before taking lunch at one of the excellent restaurants in Ieper’s main square.

Visit the Flanders Field Museum and Menin Gate Memorial during the afternoon, before attending the Last Post Ceremony that evening.

Wednesday 23rd April 2008 We begin with a visit to the Dressing Station and CWGC Cemetery at Essex Farm before moving on to the Yorkshire Trench to see the preserved trenches where we discuss the Race to the Sea and First Battle of Ypres.

From Yorkshire Trench we move on to visit the French memorial at Pilkem to discuss the first major gas attack of the war. We follow this by driving to the Passchendaele area to continue with this theme before paying our respects at the Tyne Cot CWGC Cemetery and Memorial.
