A two-day tour of the East of England Airfields and locations associated with the US 8th Air Force during the Second World War. Your tour will be led by Eric Ratcliffe who has guided a number of tours for the US 8th Air Force Association during their Reunion visits.
On the first day you will visit one of the Bomber Airfields from which the gallent Airmen of the US 8th Air Force flew and be given an introduction to the Bomber War. In the afternoon you will visit the Norfolk Aviation Museum before returning to Norwich where you will have an option of taking part in an evening guided stroll around the centre of the city that is designed to give you an understanding of the rest and recouperation enjoyed by the American Airmen.
On the second day you visit the Cambridge American Cemetery and Memorial in the morning where many of those gallent airmen are buried. Lunch will be taken at the Eagle Public House in Cambridge city centre and in the afternoon you are driven to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford where you have a chance to see up close the many aircraft on display.
